    Chapter 1 - Situational Awareness
With the increasing violence that is happening in our community the Instructors of Train 2 Defend have developed a Personal Protection training course. The term situational awareness is simply being aware of one's surroundings. Situational Awareness is more of a mindset than a hard skill. It can be exercised by anyone with the will and the discipline to do so. You need to be able to identify potential threats and dangerous situations, not only to you but others around you. We will provide techniques and explain how a person can develop this situational awareness mindset in a relaxed and sustainable way. After the seminar is complete, students will move forward to firing range to fire a maximum of 50 rounds while putting the newly obtained knowledge into action. The goal of this course is to develop skills to protect yourself while not endangering other members of the public or how to avoid certain situations all together in everyday life.
